JOHNSON STATE COLLEGE
Johnson State College campus lies on a 350-acre hilltop with a spectacular view of the Green Mountains. We are located only 45 minutes away from Vermont’s biggest city of Burlington and 2 ½ hours from Montreal. Some of Vermont’s best skiing is close by, such as Stowe, Smugglers Notch, and Jay ski resorts.
Academically, you’ll be challenged at JSC. To prepare you to become a well-rounded individual, JSC offers some general education courses in writing, mathematics and social studies. A writing proficiency examination is also part of the graduation requirement. The intimate learning environment of 14.5 average students per class will give students plenty of opportunities to interact with the faculty members. Classes will be filled with discussions.
JSC's largest academic programs are Elementary Education and Business Management; however, our 25 liberal arts offerings also include such distinctive programs as Outdoor Education, Wellness & Alternative Medicine, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Fine and Performing Arts, Creative Writing, Journalism and 11 teacher licensure programs.
JSC seems to naturally attract students who like getting involved. Political, social or environmental causes, the arts, athletics, pre-professional organizations … whatever your interest, we give you the opportunity to explore it through our clubs, organizations, community service programs and extended classroom experiences.
