Founded in 1957, Stony Brook University is one of the State University of New York’s four University Centres. We are located in New York on the north shore of Long Island, 60 miles east of New York City.
Stony Brook University is ranked in the Top 100 best universities and Top 50 public national universities by US News & World Report . Furthermore, we are one of only 63 members of the prestigious, ‘invitation only’ Association of American Universities (AAU).
