THE SCHOOL OF PHARMACY, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
Established in 1842, The School of Pharmacy, University of London, is the only specialist free-standing institution in the UK dedicated to education and research in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. We are located in Bloomsbury – the site of one of the largest concentrations of educational institutions, extensive libraries and learning resources in the world.
We offer the MPharm, a four year undergraduate program leading to the Master of Pharmacy degree. This entitles graduates, after a further year of pre-registration training, to sit the examination of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and register as a Pharmacist in the UK.
Additionally, we offer a range of postgraduate programs focusing on four key areas of research: Drug Discovery, Formulation Sciences, Neurosciences, and Medicine Use and Health.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise for British universities 90% of the research activity at The School of Pharmacy was deemed internationally significant and 25%, world-leading.
Students from over 40 countries benefit from internationally top rated multidisciplinary research integrated with excellent teaching to further their knowledge and understanding of medicines - how they are made, how they act and how people use them to prevent and cure disease.
