Did you know?

Canada
is one of the top 3 countries sending students to the USA?

Application numbers for the greater Toronto area universities are extremely high this year That means too many applicants, not enough spaces

REMEMBER
If you register early, you have a better chance of building a presence leading up to the fairs. Pre-Marketing is invaluable to you. Read about it on the "Marketing" page.

International Fair

This year, the graduate and undergraduate levels will be combined into one fair. We expect approximately 2000 students and parents over the two day event. This year's fair location is in the heart of the high income areas of Markham, Richmond Hill, and North York region. It will enable those who not only live across the entire Toronto area to attend, but also those who live outside of the GTA. It is easily accessible from all major highways, and provides lots of free parking for everyone.

Unprecedented Demand: The Universities in Ontario are experiencing large numbers of applicants that they cannot accommodate due to lack of available space in very competitive programs. Now that the double cohort in the Ontario high school system has filtered from the undergraduate level into the graduate level, the numbers of applicants, especially in the GTA universities, will continue to increase for several years to come. (GTA=greater Toronto area) See several interesting articles regarding this in the "Recruitment News" section of this website.

Early registration or your letter of intent to participate in the 2009 Fair will only strengthen your ability to recruit in Ontario. If I don't know if you will be attending, I cannot include you in the marketing for the events which will begin in March.

NOTE:
The registration fee is based on whether or not you will be representing your Graduate School or your Undergraduate School or both.

OPTION # 1 = $1645.00 US
For representatives for Undergraduate programs for a single university. Sunday Fair & Monday (2 public fairs, counsellor day/brunch, counsellor fair & marketing)

OPTION # 2 = $645.00 US
For representatives for Graduate programs for a single university. (Sunday Fair & marketing)

OPTION #3 = $2100.00 US
For representatives of undergraduate AND graduate programs for a single university using one table. Sunday Fair & Monday (2 public fairs, counsellor day/brunch, counsellor fair & marketing)

The first day, Sunday, is a full day open to the public when students and their parents have the opportunity to visit with the university representatives from 11:00 am through to 4:00 pm.

The second day, Monday, is split into two sections: The morning is devoted to various workshops that are offered to Guidance Counsellors who attend from across the province. We usually draw approximately 150 counsellors to this event. The morning agenda includes 2-3 consecutive workshops, followed by a fair exclusively for the counsellors. There is a brunch served at the fair in order to promote an atmosphere of networking amongst the counsellors and the university representatives.

The evening of the second day (6:00 pm - 8:30 pm) is devoted to the public once again. The first hour will be an International panel discussion with reps from the various countries briefly outlining their post secondary systems, followed by the fair from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

NOTE: We have upgraded the look of this fall's fair to include a poster board stand which will sit behind each university table. There will be a sign at the top with your University name so the students will have a better view of the university locations when they enter the ballroom. The board will provide extra room for you to display posters & other info.

When you participate in RECRUIT in CANADA, the following is included in your registration fee:

● a 6 foot skirted table, poster board stand & chair in the Fair area.
● listing in the Fair handout with a profile of your university and contact info.
● pre-fair promotion listings on the student website, http://www.pennybissett.org
● listing on large coloured posters that are sent to 800+ high schools, community colleges and universities.
● announcements and promotion of the fairs in the local newspapers, university papers, and guidance counsellor list servs.
● assistance with any pre-fair promotion ads the university would like to place in major newspapers etc.
. A data base listing of all students who pre-registered for the fair via my website.
● post fair contact for student inquiries through the PBC office all year around. We are your Canadian office all year through!
● Relevant news clippings automatically sent to all clients during the year.
